after engagement : arrange to meet groom's parents if you haven't already met and/or host an engagement party
12-18 months : decide on a budget and determine who is paying for what - many brides and grooms contribute toward or entirely host their own wedding
12 months : begin guest list
6 months : finalize guest list, reserve accommodations for out-of-town guests, and order the invitations
3-6 months : begin to shop for your dress/gown and help spread the word
2 -3 months : order your dress/gown and accessories and provide description (and swatch if possible) to mother-of the groom so she can begin to shop for her dress/gown
2 weeks : call any of your guests who have not responded
Mother of the Groom
12-18 months - offer to contribute to the wedding if you desire
12 months : begin guest list
9 months : select rehearsal dinner location
6 months : finalize guest list
2 -3 months : order your dress/gown and accessories
3-4 weeks : invite guests to rehearsal dinner
