Ideally,
try to complete your registry six to nine months prior to the event, though you
may register shortly after the engagement if you wish. Be aware when
registering early -too far in advance
can sometimes lead to items being out of stock or discontinued. Certain color
options change with seasons, or particular collections of bed linens may not be
available after say, nine months. However, feel free to register earlier for
non-seasonal items such as cookware or established brands of china.
Be
sure to register before your engagement parties and showers. When someone is
throwing you an engagement party or a bridal shower, register at least a month
before the event, and include gifts appropriate for that event. The holidays
are also a great time for friends and family to buy engaged couples gifts for
their new home. Feel free to update your registry as you find new products that
you will need for your home and most of all, have fun with your wedding
registry!
