A long and time honored tradition that is seeing a fast comeback in popularity is the groom's cake.
These are cakes which generally are the total opposite of the wedding cake. For
example, if the wedding cake is light, the groom's cake might be made with dark rich espresso flavoring. The groom's cake can be served at the rehearsal dinner or sliced and boxed to be sent home at the wedding reception. These cakes are
custom designed to reflect the groom's personality and usually follow a theme,
for example a golf course for an avid golfer. Or, for an Ohio State football
fan, ask your confectioner about whipping up a miniature version of ‘The
Horseshoe.’ Remember, when it comes to groom’s cakes, anything goes. If
over-the-top is wrong, then when it comes to this unique dessert, you don’t
want to be right!
